This not only brings down capex and opex, but help operators differentiate with their networks to quickly turn around high performance applications while assuring superior service levels.

This webinar will elaborate on the following topics:

  • Why is convergence so important?
  • The rise of high performance service model.
  • How MPLS-TP ensures reliability and predictability associated with existing transport networks?
  • High performance Service Opportunities.

The telecom market is witnessing a drastic shift in recent times. Telecom is no longer restricted towards traditional voice or SMS service offerings by operators. They are increasingly becoming a network of bandwidth which can be utilized by several application providers and OTT players to carry their services. Given the improved data offering on mobile, the industry has witnessed a surge in the free text apps and internet calls from OTT and Messaging players like Nimbuzz, WhatsApp, Skype, Facebook and Google, who are engaged in providing services without having a network or a spectrum.

The impact is evident with the fact that the rapid rise of chat apps have already started chopping SMS revenues of mobile operators.

As the government has approved the VoIP services under the National Telecom Policy 2012 and players like Reliance Jio Infocom and Nimbuzz are sensing a great opportunity to offer Voice from it. This change is expected to take the Indian telecom market to a new level of competition where traditional telecom players will encounter new challenges to survive and thrive. This has also led to an increased focus of telcos towards creating a pool of application developers to find out various other alternatives.

The question is: Where will telcos stand in three years down the line? What are the key differential factors they can bring in for their customers? How will they compete with this new age trends?

In this webinar we'll attempt to find out answers to some key questions:

  • How will telcos see the role of OTT service providers and what impact it will have on consumers?
  • Are OTT players capable to deliver SMS and VoIP services over smartphones and new age devices efficiently at a longer period of time? What are the challenges?
  • Regulatory hurdles that can impact the growth of OTT services?
  • Partnerships of OTT players and telco service providers
