Gurgaon-based Shyam Networks, a data communication and surveillance solutions provider, has set a target of 20-percent growth in the current financial year 2012-13.
"Our revenues for the last financial year were pegged at around INR 450 million (US$8.03 million), and we are expecting an 18-20 percent growth by the end of this financial year," says Nafis Kazim, Chief Operating Officer, Shyam Networks. (See Shyam Networks Appoints Nafis Kazim As COO.)
Part of the Shyam Group, the company started its India operations in 2010 and is primarily into wireless broadband space. It is relying heavily on its Winknet brand [B2C division] under which it has recently launched, a third-generation WiFi router in collaboration with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL). Shyam Networks believes that the Winknet portfolio will contribute maximum to its revenues for this financial year. (See BSNL, Shyam Partner For 3G.)
"We believe that a focus towards wireless broadband will drive our revenues. In 3G space, we have office router and datacards. Most of our products are operator agnostic. So we are giving a clear message to our stakeholders that if you say broadband and you need any device - be it at home or office to connect - we have the best products to meet that requirement," Kazim adds.
The company says it is not exploring partnership options with any other operator for the Winknet pocket Wi-Fi router product and will continue to work only with BSNL for this product. It, however, adds that it is open for multiple operator collaborations for other products and future launches.
Shyam competes with the likes of Micromax Informatics Ltd., Beetel Teletech Ltd. and Teracom AB in the 3G product space.
