Research In Motion Ltd. (RIM) is expected to release its new operating system based BlackBerry 10 smartphone in India by December this year. RIM says it is working on a launch strategy.
"Our focus is on BlackBerry 10 phones and we have plans to launch them in India latest by the end of this year," says Sunil Lalvani, Director - Enterprise Sales, RIM, in a recent interaction with Light Reading India.
RIM is undergoing major restructuring globally and is downsizing in an effort to stabilize its operations. At the same time, it is confident of maintaining its lead as one of the top-two enterprise smartphone players in India and hopes to expand its presence to about 250 cities soon. According to IDC, RIM has about a 10-percent share in India's smartphone market.
