Now that the Korean Chaebol, Samsung Corp. has bagged at least a part of Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL)'s Long Term Evolution Time Division Duplex (LTE TDD) deal, the road ahead is anything but easy for the vendor. (See Samsung Gets The Coveted RIL's LTE Deal.)
To begin with, the company would need to sort out its managed services strategy at the earliest. This is probably the biggest challenge being faced by Samsung. We reckon, the company would be in talks with major vendors or thinking of some other way to sort out its managed services issue.
"We believe that it is our technology which got us the deal. The challenge now is to meet technical implementation part of Reliance's requirement," a company source said on condition of anonymity.
The company would also be in talks with third party vendors like Wipro Ltd. and Tech Mahindra Ltd. to have local partners.
The next step Samsung must take is to ramp up its networking division. In addition it is also expected that it would start hiring to meet the implementation deadlines and to meet other SLA [Service Level Agreements] demands.
